ASHBY STAGE ART HOUSE EVENTS

Over our decades of making local theatre The Shotgun Players have come across some great performers from the Bay Area's delicious subculture: solo artists, comedians, and wildly innovative performance collectives to name a few. It hasn't always been easy to find a place for these inspiring performers in our mainstage season, but sometimes we have available nights and the bar is always open!

HEART WRENCH
A VALENTINE'S DAY EDITION OF THE INFINITE WRENCH

Heart Wrench

Wednesday, February 14 at 8 PM

The critically-acclaimed San Francisco Neo-Futurists make their triumphant return to the Ashby Stage with Heart Wrench: A Valentine’s Day edition of The Infinite Wrench , a special event featuring 30 of our all-time favorite plays written on the subject of love.

Named one of “22 San Francisco things everyone must do” by the SF Chronicle, our flagship weekly show, The Infinite Wrench, is a heart-pumping race against the clock to present an ever-changing roster of 30 original plays in 60 minutes. Since our company’s founding in 2013, we’ve premiered over 3,500 hyper-short plays on our stage. For Heart Wrench, we’ve picked 30 of our favorite plays about romantic, platonic, best friendship, monogamous, polyamorous, will-they-won’t-they, and we-refuse-to-define-what-this-is love. What can we say? We’re feeling flirty.

So, grab your loved ones and join us on February 14 at 8 PM! Tickets start at $25. For those who are able, there are tiered tickets for higher giving to support the ongoing, ever-changing and always wonderful work of the San Francisco Neo-Futurists. We are grateful to all for supporting our ensemble of theatre makers, theatre shakers, and theatre breakers.

Can't make it on Valentine's Day? Heart Wrench will also run the weekend before, Feb 9 & 10, in San Francisco at Eclectic Box. Learn more at sfneofuturists.org

PROSE & CONFLUENCE
A QUEER COWBOY MUSICAL

KLANGHAUS

Saturday, February 24 at 8 PM

Presented by Klanghaus

Prose & Confluence is a newly devised musical by Max Abner and Teddy Hulsker. The story follows the attempts of the River Hermit and his mischievous Water Boy, a corporeal manifestation of the hermit’s grief, to connect, process and heal from loss through music. The show provides an immersive experience that bridges the gap between rich musical landscapes, performance art, and traditional theatrical storytelling.

Klanghaus, a dynamic Bay Area artist ensemble founded in 2015, invites audiences to experience their latest groundbreaking project. Led by Teddy Hulsker, this group of eclectic collaborators is known for their creative experimentation and commitment to fostering a robust artistic community. Their newest offering, following the success of How We Spend Our Days, is a devised musical and soft meditation that delves into themes of loss, mourning, and masculinity. This queer cowboy musical weaves an intimate, meditative, and playfully childlike narrative, akin to a healing lullaby.
