What was your first Shotgun Players experience?

My first Shotgun Players experience was the fellowship meeting. We had pizza, and everyone got to introduce themselves, and it was overall a welcoming experience.

What made you want to be a MAD fellow? Why Shotgun Players?

I actually hadn’t heard about Shotgun players until Terri, the employer partnership coordinatoe at the West Contra Costa Unified School District, found me this internship. Once she told me about it, I looked up the Shotgun website, and I was automatically so excited to be with the company. Then at the fellowship meeting they told me about the MAD program. I definitely believe in what the MAD program does and what their mission is.

What is your favorite Shotgun play and why?

My first and only show I’ve seen at Shotgun so far is Brownsville. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite shows because of the relevancy of the show. As sad as it is, it’s crazy to see how often shootings like this happen and how you don’t really take into consideration how the rest of the family feels afterwards. Also, the show made me cry and laugh.

What knowledge do you hope to gain from your fellowship?

I hoped to gain the knowledge of what goes into actually planning and producing a show.

What is the one play that you would love for Shotgun to produce?

Noises Off

Why theater?

I personally love theatre because of the emotional aspect. I feel that since the show and actors are right in front of you, you get more into the show, and you get more emotionally involved. Also, being an actress, I love the feeling of performing on stage and hearing audience feedback and reactions.

Can you tell us one fun fact about you?

I’ve been dancing since I was 7!
