What’s your creative origin story?

I have been an artist for all my life, working in various mediums such as painting, illustration, and digital art. I am currently studying art and media studies at UC Berkeley. As my creative career has developed, a passion for marketing and graphic design increased. I had the opportunity to take a costume design course in school; this introduced me to the engaging, vast, and complex world of theatre.

What made you want to be a M.A.D. Fellow?

I was drawn to Shotgun Players as a company because of its commitment to community, its diverse and inclusive environment, its focus on social justice issues, and its support for emerging creatives. I was interested to learn more about theatre administration and develop my expertise in marketing and design.

What is one cool thing you learned or hope to learn from your fellowship?

My fellowship has taught me that passion and commitment can really drive and move a company forward. It has been amazing to see how Shotgun Players provides space to collaborate. There are so many moving components behind the scenes of each theatre production, and witnessing it firsthand has been truly inspirational.
