The Village Bike
Just what a marriage needs.
A bit of mystery.

Written by Penelope Skinner
Directed by Patrick Dooley

Through January 2017

Becky's got sweaty pipes. Banging and groaning in the middle of the night, something's got to be done. While her husband spends all his time poring over baby books, Becky takes charge and "brings in a man" to get the job done. Things get complicated. The Village Bike looks dead-on at the world's view of women's sexuality with a hilarious, steamy and provocative plunge into intimacy, pornography and the anxiety of expectant parents.

"Shotgun Players production triumphs."—KQED

"Funny and gut-wrenching." —San Jose Mercury News

"Fresh and controversial."—Theatre Bay Area

"Well worth a thoughtful playgoer’s time."—Huffington Post

Run Time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one 10-minute intermission.

PENELOPE SKINNER: No. I think most audience members have been able to differentiate between 'the things the characters say' and 'what the play is saying'. . .
