M.A.D. Marketing Fellowship
Shotgun’s M.A.D. marketing fellow will learn the process of identifying, cultivating, and retaining an annual audience of donors, subscribers, and single-ticket patrons.
This 3-month fellowship is an opportunity to develop core marketing skills—research, strategy, design, and project management. Shotgun’s marketing is fast-paced and collaborative. One day, you may design an email and social media campaign or arrange advertising trades with other local theaters. The next, you may build mobile-responsive web pages or create custom analytics reports. This opportunity is designed to offer more than a summer “updating” Facebook; you’ll develop the skills and experience for a successful start to your performing arts marketing career. As a final project, you will manage the marketing for one component of M.A.D. program from start to finish. The fellow will work an average of 25 hours per week, during office hours 10am-5pm, with occasional evening or weekend commitments.
- Refine Shotgun’s current marketing strategy by conducting your own primary research (interviews/focus groups/analytics) and researching secondary sources on best practices (white papers and studies)
- Work in collaboration with our marketing director, box office manager, managing director, and Shotgun associated artists to design and publish content that promotes a passionate ongoing conversation with current and prospective new audiences
- Review weekly activities at Ashby Stage and Shotgun Studios that can’t wait to become engaging content on our website, email, and social media channels
Enthusiasm for marketing, superior communication and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency across current social media platforms, and with Adobe and Microsoft Office products. Box office and/or prior professional marketing experience is desirable.
Shotgun offers $150/week stipend to offset travel expenses.
