Late Seating
We love you, but there is NO LATE SEATING at Shotgun Players. Performances begin promptly at the listed curtain time. This is a policy we must enforce without exceptions due to the design of our theater and for the safety of our actors and audience members.
For this reason, we highly recommend guests arrive at least 30 minutes prior to showtime.
Picking Up Tickets
No need to print your tickets! We will have your tickets at will call the night of your scheduled performance under your name.
Unable to make a performance and don't want to reschedule? Let your friends know to ask for the tickets under your name at will call, and they'll be all set!
Ticket Exchange
To exchange your tickets, email boxoffice@shotgunplayers.org. You will not be able to reschedule your tickets through your Shotgun online account for security reasons.

Single Ticket Buyers
Tickets are non-refundable after purchase. There is a $7 ticket exchange fee for any reservation changes until 24 hours before the performance Within 24 hours of the performance, tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
Subscribers
Subscribers may change their reservation with no additional fee up until 24 hours before the performance. Any changes within 24 hours of the performance may be accommodated for a $7 ticket exchange fee. Unclaimed subscription reservations are nonrefundable.
No Shows
Tickets that have not been claimed at will call by the scheduled performance time are nonrefundable. Any unclaimed tickets are turned back as a donation. We're happy to issue you a tax-deductible receipt for the value of the tickets.
Waitlist for Sold Out Shows
For sold-out performances, we offer an in-person waitlist on the day of the show, beginning in the lobby one hour before showtime.
- To be on the waitlist, you must come to the theater in person on the day of the show you wish to attend. Waitlist spots cannot be reserved over the phone or for future performance dates.
- Please note that the wait list is first come, first served and starts an hour before show time. When you arrive in the lobby, check in with the box office and they will take your information.
- Please note, subscribers looking to utilize unused season subscription tickets have priority on the waitlist.
- At showtime, we will be able to determine if there are seats available.
Being on the wait list does not guarantee you a ticket, BUT it does guarantee you a chance at a ticket for a sold-out performance.
Re-Entry During a Performance
Please note that any guests that leave their seats (outside of intermission) will be asked to wait in the lobby until stage management provides an appropriate time when patrons can reenter the theater. We will do our best to reseat you as promptly as possible.
As always, if you anticipate that you will need to leave your seat during the performance, let our front-of-house staff know so that we can provide you with the best times to do so during the performance.
Children at the Theater
Out of respect for our artists, there are no babes in arms or small children allowed into the theater.
That being said, we love introducing young adults to theater, but please note that tickets are sold at the discretion of the parent. If you have a question about the content of a show, please check our content advisories, or feel free to contact the box office.
Shotgun Players Ticket Types
Regular Tickets
Regular tickets are priced dynamically. Prices generally go up during the run of a production. So come early in the run if you want to save money on tickets!
Regular tickets are available online and by phone for all performances. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night of the performance—an hour before showtime—subject to availability.
Subscriber ticket
These tickets are—simply put—the hottest tickets at Shotgun! Subscribers get online access to the best seats, first dibs on performances, no ticket exchange fees for changes made more than 24 hours before their chosen performance—plus a lil’ extra love from the box office. Discounted Tickets for Individuals
Pay-What-You-Can Ticket
We offer pay-what-you-can tickets to all of our previews (performances before opening night). These tickets are genuine to their name, choose yours!
Community Tickets
We believe live theatre has the power to open minds, lift spirits, and fill us with wonder and joy. That means it must be affordable to all. We know the distribution of wealth in our culture is random and unfair. With that in mind, if our regular admission price is an obstacle to you enjoying a night at our theater, then please use the $15 Community Ticket! If someday you don't need it, then please spread the word to those who do so they can also join us!
In order to reach as many people as possible, we offer 2 Community Tickets per person/order and have up to 10 tickets available for each performance. We ask for your support in respecting these guidelines to keep these tickets accessible to those who need them.
You can reserve these tickets in advance by using the discount code COMMUNITY online.
M.A.D. (Make a Difference) Ticket
We make a lot of theatre with and for young folks, so we want to do everything we can to make it affordable for them. If you're 25 and under, you can get into ANY performance for $10! When selecting your seats, click on the red discount code button and enter MADTIX to unlock the discounted tickets. Be sure to bring your ID to the Will Call booth, and you're all set to enjoy a night of amazing theater!
We offer 2 M.A.D Tickets per person/order and have up to 10 tickets available for each performance.

Artist Ticket
If you've worked on a production in the performing arts in the last year, bring us a screenshot with your name on it to get a $20 ticket to any show! You can reserve these tickets in advance by booking online using the promo code CALLBOARD
or by contacting the box office.
Trans-POC always Watch Free Ticket
Trans Poc Always Watch Free is an outreach program offering unfettered access to live theatre at the Ashby Stage for any transgender person of color, regardless of income. The program was inspired by the groundbreaking work of Oakland restaurateur Cellphone and their Trans POC Always Eat Free programs.
We offer a free ticket to anyone who identifies as a trans person of color using discount code TPOC4FREE.
