Description

Adrienne Kennedy was heavily involved in the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and 70s, and is best known for her play Funnyhouse of a Negro. She attended Ohio State in the ‘50s, and continued her studies at Columbia University. Kennedy has a distinctive style: fragmentary, nonlinear, dreamlike — “spider webs strung on little stars,” says Wally Shawn. Many of her plays are based on her own experiences; The Ohio State Murders is no exception.
