Up Next on the Ashby Stage

We’ve got some great events lined up while you wait for the awesomeness of Shotgun’s 2018 season.

JAN 31–FEB 4 | Dan Savage’s HUMP! Film Festival

HUMP! features short dirty movies—each less than five minutes—all created by people who aren’t porn stars but want to be one for a weekend. HUMP’s carefully curated program is a cornucopia of body types, shapes, ages, colors, sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes—all united by a shared spirit of sex-positivity. HUMP!’s main mission is to change the way America sees—and makes and shares—porn. humpfilmfest.com

FEB 14 & 15, 8pm | San Francisco Neo-Futurists present The Infinite Wrench

San Francisco Neo-Futurists present The Infinite Wrench

The Infinite Wrench is an ongoing and ever-changing attempt to shift the conventions of live performance and to speak to audiences, including those unreached or unmoved by traditional theatre. The Infinite Wrench is a mechanism that unleashes a barrage of two-minute plays in a show that explores the irrepressible, the honest, the WTF, and the new. sfneofuturists.com

FEB 16, 8–10pm | MISNER & SMITH

Misner & Smith @ The Ashby Stage

Soaring vocal harmonies and story-filled, poetic songwriting—Misner & Smith's sound harkens back to the bedrock of modern American rock & folk. Paying tribute to strong influences like Simon & Garfunkel, The Band, and Buffalo Springfield, they invent a sound all their own, seducing listeners with music that captures longing and belonging in the same moment.
Their partnership in music is a search for meaning. The songs yearn for connection, ache for understanding, relish in mystery, and rejoice in creation. In a world that often feels to be crumbling down around us, they dig deep, and find hope in simple things, in the beauty that surrounds us all. For this special show they will return to the Ashby Stage in trio form with the extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalist Josh Yenne on pedal steel and electric guitar. misnerandsmith.com
