3030 Vision
There is just so much excitement and anticipation coursing through all our veins as we plan for and imagine our post-pandemic theatre lives! It’s been an incredibly trying time for so many of us. It’s also been a tremendous opportunity to take stock of our past and map out fresh, ambitious visions for our future. We’re not “going back to normal.” We’re going forward to an expansive, more inclusive world that honors our past even as we embrace adventurous thinking and fresh aesthetics. So what does that look like?
We recently put out a call for proposals for folks who were inspired to create a 3-5 minute video or online experience of what theatre and the world could look like in the next 30 years using one of the 150+ plays we’ve created over the last three decades as their creative spark.
We were blown away, not just by the number of proposals, but also by their breadth and depth. The following is a list of the 30 chosen projects including the play that inspired the vision and the lead artists for each proposal. They were released on July 8, 2021 - the anniversary of the first show we opened back in 1992! The beginning is NEAR!
