House of Jules places Strindberg’s Miss Julie in a Black New Orleans bounce and hip hop club owned by a wealthy Creole patriarch. House of Jules stages madness, longing, escape, and capital enslavement inside the sweat and ritual of Black club culture. It asks: when the beat drops, can desire set us free—or does the house always win?
