Joseph Alvarado (he / him) is honored to be among the phenomenal cast and production team of Yellow Face, his first production with Shotgun.  Before receiving his not-so-golden handshake, he played the role of ‘worker’ for a gigantic financial services firm while moonlighting on stages throughout the bay area. He was born, raised and still lives in San Francisco and shares his home with his 19-year old cat, Malcolm.production team of Yellow Face, his first production with Shotgun Players.

WILLIAM BROSNAHAN

William Armstrong Brosnahan is a Bay Area based actor and is overjoyed to be making his Shotgun debut. After attending Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, he’s found Shakespeare and film to be favorites with roles as Orlando and Romeo in production with SF Shakes. Watch for his first feature lead in the film “Love and Therapy”, streaming some time next year.

BEN CHAU-CHIU Ben is excited to be back as DHH after playing the role for the CSRS last summer. Some of their acting credits include Triumph of Love (SFCM); Lucky Chances (PlayGround Solo Fest); Cymbeline, Much Ado About Nothing (SF Shakes); As You Like It, The Winter’s Tale (Cal Shakes); Poor Yella Rednecks, The Headlands (A.C.T.). Alan is making his full-fledged Shotgun debut, though he has been lurking in the wings for decades. He has performed with ACT, SF Shakes, We Players, Center Rep, PLAY Theatre, and Town Hall Theatre, among others. His 2-person adaptation, 2ELFth NIGHT, infiltrated the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019. You can see him next at Central Works in DADAIST TEEN MUSICAL this October-November.

NICOLE ODELL

Nicole is an actor, director, writer, and improviser. A Bay Area native, she holds a B.A. in Drama from SFSU and completed the Conservatory program at Second City Hollywood. She has appeared in productions throughout the Bay, and comedy festivals across the country. She currently serves as Artistic Director of the sketch comedy company Killing My Lobster. This is Nicole’s second Shotgun Players production, having appeared as Betty 1 in last year’s production of Collective Rage.

Chloe is a multidisciplinary actor based in San Francisco. Acting in plays, readings, short films and commercials. Past roles include Li in SFBATCOs Shidaiqu, Shelley in SPARC Theaters Running the Light, Lydia in Z Spaces Big Love, and Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Beyond the stage and screen, they are an avid student and artist, excited to work/connect/play with other actors and creatives!

DAVID NEHRY HWANG

David Henry Hwang’s stage works include the plays M. ButterflyYellow Face (revived on Broadway in 2024), ChinglishThe Dance and the Railroad, and FOB, as well as the musicals AidaSoft PowerFlower Drum Song, and Disney’s Tarzan. Called America’s most produced living opera librettist, he has written thirteen libretti. Ainadamar with music by Osvaldo Golijov recently made its Metropolitan Opera premiere. Hwang was a Writer/Consulting Producer for the Golden Globe-winning television series The Affair and is currently creating and show running a new TV series, Billion Dollar Whale. A professor at Columbia University, he serves on the boards of the American Theatre Wing, Dramatists Guild, DGF, and the Entertainment Community Fund. Hwang is a Tony Award® winner and three-time nominee, a Grammy Award winner and two-time nominee, a three-time Obie Award winner, and a three-time Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama.

Armando Breiz (Assistant Costume Designer) (he/him) is a born and raised San Franciscan
who’s worked at Bay Area theaters including Archbishop Riordan Drama, Hillbarn Theatre, and Word for Word Productions at ZSpace. This is his first show at Shotgun Players. In addition to his love for sewing, he is the co-owner and chef of BAB BOI, a catering company specializing in playful Filipino eats. (@mahndoh / @babboi.sf)

Michael Kelly headed the audio department for multiple seasons at Cal Shakes and now serves as the sound supervisor here with Shotgun Players, where he designed “Great Comet” (SFBATCC nomination 2023) and “Choir Boy”. Other recent venues include Oakland Theatre Project, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Town Hall, Cutting Ball, Playground, Ferocious Lotus, SF Shakes, and Marin Theatre Company.

Enkidu Khan is a multi-disciplined theatre artist who has worked in a variety of positions, including as a designer, playwright, stage manager and artistic director. They studied theatre and performance with an emphasis in new works and devised theatre at Oklahoma City University. Some of their favorite credits include stage managing The Poes, a devised live cinema experience, and writing and directing Learning to Forget.
