EURYDICE

Written by  Sarah Ruhl
Directed by  Erika Chong Shuch

August 20 - September 20, 2015
EXTENDED to October 4!

PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN PREVIEWS:  August 20-26
OPENING NIGHT: August 27

On the day Eurydice is to marry her true love Orpheus, a misstep sends her to the surreal depths of the Underworld. There she has a surprising reunion and must decide whether to follow Orpheus back to the land of the living. This tenderhearted comedy/love story solidified Ruhl as one of the most important new voices in American theatre. "Rhapsodically beautiful - an inexpressibly moving theatrical fable about love, loss and the pleasures and pains of memory." - The New York Times

Running Time: 100 minutes with no intermission.

"As boldly new as it is beautifully resonant... as exciting as seeing the tale for the first time." - Robert Hurwitt, SF Chronicle

"'Dazzling' and 'smoldering' are the best words to describe Shotgun Players' multi-layered Eurydice." - Lou Fancher, SF Weekly

Eurydice is generously supported by a grant from The William & Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

Remember that we love you, but there is no late seating at Shotgun Players. Performances begin promptly. Due to the configuration of our theater latecomers will only be seated at the intermission if and when a production has one. This is a policy we must enforce without exceptions, due to the design of our theatre, and for the safety of our actors and audience members.

Sold out? Don't despair! There will often be single tickets available at the door. Learn more about our waitlist policy here!
